Which way does your shower door open? During a recent home inspection in Rockville Center I found this shower door that opened inward.

There is only one way a shower door should open which is outwards, and I have seen these open the wrong way several times over the years.

If your bathroom is small and it must open inwards because the glass door will impact the toilet, or the corner of the vanity and possibly shatter, you STILL CAN’T install it to open inwards.

Imagine your spouse, or family member falls, has a heart attack, or for whatever reason falls to the floor and maybe knocks themselves out and their body is against the door, how will you get them out?

Well you could break the glass.

Or you could do it the right way.
